NORA LEFA
Master of Arts, Arts et Technologie de l’Image Virtuelle (Université Paris 8 and Athens School of Fine Arts). MSc, National Technical University of Athens. Phd candidate, University of Sarajevo. Licenced Architect. From 1992 to 2005 she has worked for and with many renowned architects in Greece (most notably Manos Perrakis, European Grand Prize for theater design).She was partner at an office in Athens and one on the island of Amorgos and has designed several vacation houses. She has vast experience in hotel architecture; among others she has helped design 5 stars premium Hotel King George in Athens center, and Mandola Rosa 5 stars resort hotel in Kyllini, Greece. She has worked with Nikos Alexiou (who eventually designed the stage setting for the 2004 Olympic Games opening ceremony) on stage sets and has participated in artistic and intermedia research projects presented in venues in Athens and London; her research / artistic work has been presented in several conferences and exhibitions in Athens, Paris, and Sarajevo. Her photograph “dance” was named photograph of the day (May 3, 2015) by FotografijaBa. She is currently running her own office of architecture, working on various visual art projects and doing research in new media and their perception by the public.She currently does research on new architectural forms.
PAVLOS LEFAS
Architect NTUA, Dr. techn, TU Graz. Professor, History and Theory of Architecture, Department of Architecture, University of Patras, Greece. Longtime partner at PETRA Architects, with vast experience in the design of major public buildings, including stadia, metro stations and other infrastructure projects, university buildings, renovations of listed buildings, upgrading of access to archaeological sites, etc. He has been awarded distinctions in several Greek and European architectural competitions, including a first prize for Athens Urban Furniture, second prize for the Unification of Athens’ Archeological Sites projects: Dionysiou Areopagitou – Ap. Pavlou pedestrian zone, third prize for the design of the classical Marathon run start, etc. He has translated into Greek and commented on Vitruvius’s De Architectura, Plethron, Athens 1997 - 1998. He has authored and edited books including Dwelling and Architecture: From Heidegger to Koolhaas, Jovis, Berlin 2009, and Architecture, A historical perspective, Jovis, Berlin 2014.
